About Dr. Spannhake

Dr. Elizabeth Spannhake has been in private practice since 1984. She graduated with multiple honors from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1982 and completed a two-year orthodontic graduate program in 1984 at the University Of Maryland School Of Dental Surgery. Dr. Spannhake holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, as well as a Master of Public Health Degree from Tulane University. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 1992, a recognition by her peers of clinical and didactic excellence in orthodontics.

Dr. Spannhake is actively involved in the orthodontic profession outside of her own practice. She has served as President of the State and Mid-Atlantic Regional Orthodontic Societies. Dr. Spannhake is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and teaches in their graduate program on a biweekly basis throughout the year.

Dr. Spannhake has also been a consulting member of the Kernan Hospital Cleft Palate Advisory Team which provides information and guidance to patients and their families seeking treatment for their cleft palates and craniofacial anomalies.
